The Aspire 8735G is an Acer notebook series. The Aspire 8735G is part of the seventh line (8xxx) released within the Aspire series. The Aspire 8xxx line includes beside the Aspire 8735G, several other Aspire notebook, such as Aspire 8940G, Aspire 8530G, Aspire 8943, Aspire 8730G, and Aspire 8942. Furthermore, Aspire 8735G is not the direct successor of any previous Acer products, but can be considered a technological upgrade of Aspire 8730G. Although it was not developed as a back-to-back product, the Aspire 8735G was by far a stand-alone product, since Acer delivered the Aspire 8735G notebooks within two different configurations.

However, Acer offered users the possibility of self-configure their Aspire 8735G. The Aspire 8735G was succeeded (from the technological point of view) by its direct successors, also part of the Aspire 8xxx line (from the Europe region Acer portfolio). The Aspire 8735G series included the main features of the Aspire notebook series, such as Acer Crystalbrite, Acer Quickcharge, Acer Signal-up, Acer Gridvista, Acer Dasp+, Acer Video Conference, and Acer TPM. However, hardware features, including the processor, the system memory, the display, the operating system, and even hard disk capacity, were strictly depending upon the configurations available within the Aspire 8735G series.

The Aspire 8735G was conventionally linked by Acer with the statement high-tech lifestyle. Acer marketed the Aspire 8735G series by using within the marketing campaign its key features: The Aspire 8735G radiates class and shows off an exciting high-tech lifestyle. Several hardware and software specifications, such as processor, hard drive, graphic adapter, main memory, and operating system were configurable, but available on specific regions (North and South America, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, and Asia-Pacific region) and were not available as configurable features worldwide.
The Aspire is Acer’s laptop series designed for everyday consumer. Acer currently markets the Aspire line as brilliant multimedia and outstanding computing. The Aspire series includes several notebooks with different design, performance and functionality.

Most Aspire notebooks have an entry-level configuration, while only a few of them have full-fledge media center configurations. Acer developed the Aspire series in order to cover from essentials to high performances. The Aspire series is aimed at the casual household user or for small business use. The Aspire series covers both desktop computers and laptops. Depending on the location the Aspire laptops can included different configurations. These configurations are strictly available on specific regions (North and South America, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, and Asia-Pacific region) and are not available worldwide.

The Aspire 8735G series was developed and released within the Aspire 8xxx series. The Aspire 8735G was delivered with 18.4″ Full HD widescreen display accompanied by superior 3rd Generation Dolby Home Theater audio. Based on Principled Technologies’ benchmark testing, using Bapco’s MobileMark 2007 Productivity test, battery life varies depending on product specifications, computer settings, and applications or features launched, and may be reduced if Windows Aero is enabled. The marketing campaign used for the Aspire 8735G included several of its benefits:

Acer delivered the Aspire 8735G notebooks with either Windows 7 Home Premium, depending upon the rest of the hardware specification, including the processor, random access memory, and hard drive.

The Aspire 8735G laptops were delivered with the Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset, with Intel Pentium processor processor with 1 MB L2 Cache, supporting Intel 64 architecture.

Acer developed the Aspire 8735G series with dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM support, up to 4 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, upgradeable to 8 GB using two soDIMM modules (for 64-bit OS), and up to 2 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, upgradeable to 4 GB using two soDIMM modules (for 32-bit OS), values for standard configurations.

The Aspire 8735G laptops included one or two 160/250/320/500 GB or larger hard disk drives , but also the Multi-in-1 card reader, supporting Secure Digital (SD) Card, MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO), xD-Picture Card (xD).

The Aspire 8735G notebooks were developed with either 4X Blu-ray Disc/DVD-Super Multi double-layer combo drive, or 8X DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive.

Within the hardware specifications, Acer included either the 18.4″ Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, high-brightness (250-nit), Acer CineCrystal TFT LCD, two lamps, supporting simultaneous multi-window viewing via Acer GridVista, or 18.4″ HD+ 1680 x 945 pixel resolution, high-brightness (220-nit) Acer CineCrystal TFT LCD, supporting simultaneous multi-window viewing via Acer GridVista. By using the NVIDIA GeForce G210M with up to 23038 MB of TurboCache (512 MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM, up to 1791 MB of shared system memory), supporting NVIDIA CUDA, PhysX, PureVideo HD technology, OpenEXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, Shader Model 4.0, Microsoft DirectX 10.1, Acer enabled better external video resolutions, with a maximum external video resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels, at 16.7 million colors, and non-interlaced resolution with max. refresh rate: 1,280 x 1,024.

Acer developed the Aspire 8735G series with optimized 3rd Generation Dolby Home Theater 9 audio enhancement, featuring Dolby Digital Live, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Natural Bass, Dolby Sound Space Expander, Dolby Audio Optimization, Dolby High Frequency Enhancer technologies, Dolby 9-optimized surround sound system with two built-in stereo speakers and one subwoofer supporting low-frequency effects, True5.1-channel surround sound output, Digital TV-tuner supporting DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial) standard (6 to 8 MHz), high-definition audio support, S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) support for digital speakers, MS-Sound compatible, built-in microphone.

Acer delivered the Aspire 8735G series with a medium range of interface ports: Multi-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, MMCplus, MS, MS PRO, xD), 4x USB 2.0 ports, 1x HDMI port with HDCP support, 1x Consumer infrared (CIR) port, 1x external display (VGA) port, 1 x RF-in jack for digital/TV antenna cable input, 1x Headphones/speaker/line-out jack with S/PDIF support, 1x Microphone-in jack, 1x Line-in jack, 1x Modem (RJ-11) port, 1x Ethernet (RJ-45) port, 1x DC-in jack for AC adapter.

With a width of 440.5 mm, length of 298.5 mm, and a varying height from the lowest 40.2 mm (front side) to the highest 44.2 mm (back side), the Aspire 8735G series has a standard starting weight of 4.1 kg (9.04 lbs.) with two HDDs and 8-cell battery pack depending on configuration (with integrated AC adapter). Because of the physical dimensions, Acer included within the Aspire 8735G series:

  • 105-/106-key keyboard with inverted “T” cursor layout, 2.5 mm (minimum) key travel;
  • Multi-gesture touchpad, supporting two-finger scroll, pinch, rotate, flip;
  • 12 function keys, four cursor keys, two Windows;

The Aspire 8735G notebooks were delivered with one-year parts and labor limited warranty with concurrent International Traveler’s Warranty. From the technological point of view, the Aspire 8735G was succeeded by the other Aspire 8xxx products, which currently includes the following Aspire models, such as Aspire 8940G, Aspire 8530G, Aspire 8943, Aspire 8730G, and Aspire 8942.

The Aspire 8735G series was compatible with a wide range of accessories offered by Acer in different categories, including power adapters, batteries, cables and adapters, Docks & Port Replicator (Port Replicator, EasyPort IV, Easy Dock), Computer Cases (Acer Notebook, Carry bags, Sleeves and Cases, Nylon Cases, Koskin Cases, Slip Case Prestige Line, Entry Level Case Prestige Line, Midrange Case, Prestige Line, Executive Case Prestige Line, Backpack Prestige Line, Mid Trolley Prestige Line, Trolley Case Prestige Line, Slip Case Smart Line, Executive Case Smart Line, Backpack Smart Line, Messenger Case Smart Line, Hardshell Portfolio Case, Warranty Bundle Case, Neo-Preen Case), Card, Mouse, or External Drives.11
